Pet beds are essential when it comes to sharing our homes with our pets. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, formats and materials and perform a variety of functions in a pet's life.
Here are some of our tips for finding the perfect bed for your pet:
We know there's no better feeling than lying in a comfortable bed at the end of the day, and judging by our pets' behavior, they feel the same way. So one suggestion: go for comfort!
Think about their favorite positions:
Dogs that normally prefer to lie flat make better mattresses or mattresses, while dogs that normally prefer to nest usually prefer wall or basket beds. Sleeping positions tend to change with temperature, so it's worth considering having different styles of summer and winter beds.
Joint problems (often associated with age or chronic weight issues) including osteoarthritis can also affect sleeping positions, so be sure not to restrict their body positioning to minimize discomfort.
Consider the surface material used:
This is related to the above points, but also keep in mind that in some seasons and environments, relatively cool surfaces may be required, while at other times, soft, warm surfaces may be required.
Given that beds are likely to be reused and will last for a long time, hygiene is a key consideration.

Considering dirt, mud and grime, wiping or washable materials are great. This is also an important point if your pet has an infectious disease, or parasites. Limiting secondary infection or transmission is important, and choosing a pet bed that can be washed and disinfected is key.
